Fossil Fuels- Will we run out?

Fossil fuels are running out as we speak. I dont think they will be around for much longer with the population as a whole consuming it at faster rates than the earth can handle.

How long do you think they will last?confused

Hm..our generation has nothing to worry about, but our children and grandchildren should be concerned. probably ...80 years or so.hmm

We will find a cleaner, more efficient, lest costly way to produce energy before we run out of fossel fuels

(if the nuclear wars dont happen, that is)

I agree with. Humans can adapt pretty fast, but sadly, we won't be motivated until it hits our wallets.

Humans Overestimate the power of our Intelligence. If we don't find better ways to manage our fuel consumption, War is a possible common denominator. If you think about it, fuel is a necessity for human beings apparently, and, if we have a shortage, it's safe to say that there will be war over fuel, and possibly nuclear war, which would cause even MORE problems for the Earth and mankind.

We wont run out of oil, its actually MADE by the Earth. (I think so anyway)  Planets and the like actually grow..  For that reason, mass is produced in the center of the planet, part of that process makes oil. Now for what reason, I donno, perhaps every planet is different and makes another chemical.  Its already been said that the term fossil fuel is wrong, oil doesn't come from old dead animals and plants like how they thought years ago.  Also the moon TITAN is COVERED IN OIL!   I guess if we do run out we can always go there.. ;P

If its true then the Earth/planets have to be getting the mass from somewhere, it could come from a black hole.  

If these videos are right then this would explain why the dinosaurs were so big back then.  For some people they see dinosaur bones and think that that animal is impossible.  Its simply too big to support its self.  I agree, and it wasn't just dinosaurs that were huge, insects and other creatures a few hundred million years ago were massive in size.  It would make sense that if the creatures actually weighed less because there wasn't as much gravity on earth at that time.  And eventually.... as the planet grew the dinosaurs would weigh more and more..  eventually they would either have to evolve to be smaller and weigh less or go extinct.

About Pangea, I never really bought into that idea anyway either.  When I was a kid and I read about that in text books I did a neat thing, I got a map of the world and cut out all the continence.  I made Pangea the way the book showed then I put all the pieces together backwards, meaning, I took the Americas and lined them up with China, India and Australia and found they fit that way too..  I then figured out something was kinda flawed about Pangea.

Titan is actually a good idea, but how would we transport enough of it through space and if need be, make a colony trhere for oil mining?

Well you do make a valid point, although i must say that we have little time to react to these rapid changes, because were stealing fossile fuels form the earth faster than it can create more.

i believe we will never run out because we are finding ways of making fossil fuels so i believe we are safe incase of a crisis but we also still need to use the fossil fuels a little less or the earth will become consumed and we will have to move to another area and find a way for oxygen to make it so that we can do more so all you on the forums need to not waste electricity and coal you have or i will blame you when the earth rotts.matrixfight.gif
